Pre-session prep Before the session, I ask for a demo so I can hear your vocals and the beat. This means saving money and no wasted time figuring things out once you're in the booth.
Vocal chain setup I’ll set you up with a high quality mic in my studio, and put you through a vocal chain used on major label vocal sessions by some of the most famous performing artists.
Interface and conversion You’ll then go through one of the cleanest sounding AD/DA converters available, so what you hear in the room is what actually gets captured.
Live takes and direction I'm in the room with you, not just hitting record and leaving you to figure it out. Mic choice and positioning gets adjusted per artist and per song, and I'll guide performance, phrasing, and energy the way a producer would, not just an engineer.
Comping and organisation Multiple takes get recorded and comped into one clean, well-organised session, leaving you with no mess to untangle. Harmonies then get figured out (if we need them).
Quick playback and feedback loop Rough listen-back happens in the room so you can hear how it's sitting before you leave, not days later.
Mix and Master For singing songs, I generally take the song away to mix, or for rap songs, they often get complete on the spot during our session.
